Do you know if transfer applicants that would graduate in 2018 will be affected by the new tuition decisions? Or is the tuition change only effective for incoming freshman after next year?

On March 22nd all of the inhabitants and their supporters were forcibly removed or arrested.

The building is being destroyed to make a parking lot :(

Do you think there might be a slight degree of luck involved in gaining admission to any of Cooper's schools? Not saying that the ones who do get accepted don't deserve it, because I am more than certain that they do..but what happens if there is a higher number of well enough qualified applicants than the schools can accept..What happens then?

This might not be your usual question, but what is the student life like at Cooper? In terms of like, parties/drinking/sex/etc.

The student life in those terms is very active. I mean, we have plenty of couples at Cooper and plenty of parties (as I’ve said in previous posts).

Do you possibly know why Cooper's Fine Arts program isn't listed on college rankings? Actually, Cooper is not there at all?

We did just have the first ever Cooer Union Drag Race, but I’m not sure if there are actually people who dress in drag. -shrugs-

I got rid of all the photographs from this Tumblr because I stopped posting them. I do not have a Flickr, but as soon as I get some kind of photography oriented blog or portfolio going I’ll post a link up.

If I personally trek over to the admissions office at Cooper and ask for my admission decision in person...will they give it to me right there? What do you think?

Well if you haven’t received it FOR SURE (checked mail box, email, and not gotten a phone call), CALL THEM. If you don’t get a concrete answer on the phone, and you live in NYC, then I guess you can always try to come by Cooper to get your answer (it won’t hurt to try, at least).

Does the Cooper Union have a set quota on how many students they accept for each program? Because I have noticed that the website says 20-35 students are accepted for architecture, for example, instead of an exact number.

No, it depends from year to year.

20-35 students for architecture (is that what the website says…?)
~60-75 students for art (those numbers are ones from my own approximation, I’m not getting these from the website)
and the rest are engineers

What kind of courses are offered for art students at Cooper besides the art classes? I know there's the humanities class but is that it? Is it possible for art students to take math or science classes?

We do have the opportunity to take math or sciences classes through electives that are offered. For this semester Physics, Biology, and Math in Art were available. It’s not as intense as the classes that the engineers (or even the architects) take, though.

Is it hard to balance school work and free time at Cooper? Is it hard to have a social life/time for yourself?

It is hard to balance school work and free time. Usually you end up using most of your time on projects, so you’re working, and the spare time you do actually get is either from slacking off, some sleep, or when you need to eat. It’s possible to make it work though and still have some sort of social life/time for yourself, you just have to have good time management skills.

I believe cooper union deferred around 180 early decision art students this year. I know that a small portion of those people would've been accepted if it had not been for the board of trustees intervention, but would cooper normally defer that many other students? If not, it seems awfully cruel to me to defer a bunch of extra students that really don't have a chance of getting in. I think they gave a lot of people false hope which is not right.

I don’t know the actual numbers, so I won’t pay attention to that, but there will always be people who got deferred that aren’t accepted during regular decision time. IMO it isn’t giving them false hope, it’s (normally when such incidents don’t happen) just the admissions people saying, “Hey we like you/we find you interesting/HMMMMMMM, we’ll give you another go at the next round of people,” so I don’t think it’s any bit cruel, it’s just how it is.

I think they should be by now, since at the beginning of May you should already decide for sure what school you’ll be attending. If you haven’t received any kind of letter, you should call. But I assume this week or next week you’ll be getting something (don’t trust that entirely since I don’t actually know, I’m guestimating).

About how many people get deferred (art) ?

I don’t know the actual statistics, maybe half the people who end up being accepted are early decision students, and so maybe half or so of those get deferred?

So I’m reading this version of Ruby Quest http://evilcorporation.com.br/rubyquest/ because I’ve seen the fanart and some of the people I follow have done it.

Can someone explain to me kindly how this whole thing started and how it was enacted out and is it totally over? Like is what I’m reading in that site (which is page by page with drawings) is the completed RQ shown as a story now?

I’m so interested in it and I’m gripping my seat with anticipation~~~~!
