Anonymous asked: hai there :3 i was wondering if you knew anything new about whats been happening with the decline of scholarships given to students. what exactly is going on? i know the schools on a budget now or something and they gonna start charging? i want to apply but this has me kinda concerned :/

It was decided at the end of the school year that only the graduate students will have to begin to pay for their tuition, and not the undergrads, so it’s not too much to worry about. But it’s still not the best solution for the problem, especially for Cooper.

As of this very moment I don’t know if anything has changed, but don’t panic! Everything is going to be OK in the end. :)

Anonymous asked: hi :) quick question, aside from cooper, did you apply to any other art school? as in, would you have paid the practically 60k annually for another art school like RISD or SCAD? would you have gone to those? im gonna be a senior in a few months and i'll be applying soon and if i get accepted to cooper i'll go in a heartbeat if my tuition is really payed for. but if not, im scared of paying so much for an art school and not being able to pay off loans later on :/

No, I wouldn’t have went to any art college if I hadn’t gotten into Cooper Union or City College (Honors Program). I would’ve actually taken a year or two off to work and then re-apply.

Or if I had done any scholarship essay competitions and the such during my senior year of high school, maybe I would’ve went to an art college and paid so much. But I didn’t do those essays, and I didn’t get much money from any colleges, so thank goodness that I got accepted to Coopz.

Definitely do scholarship essays, they’re a good backup to have when you do win the money, either for dorming or for tuition, whatever the situation you’ll end up being in will be.

Good luck! :)
